As promised to myself, of course, today I will continue telling about my life experience, but in particular will share with how I celebrated the coming of this New 2009! I did it in the Eternal City, where I currently reside and work. After a standard 7 hour long working day, I joined my friends at a dinner party in San Giovanni area. The dinner was fantastic. All the merits of my greatest friend Roberta Scifoni, a great gourmet master and a nicest person. Roby made home-made bread, nice starters with salmon and prosciutto, another friend of Reberta- Giorgio, who has Emilian Romagnolo origins, made delicious cappelletti- some sort of small ravioli with the shape of little hats, stuffed with parmesan and stracchino cheese...Uhmmm, was so yammi. But the details for all these recipies are to be found on my other blog (ADVERTISING!!!)-Estasi Culinarie, which still has to be launched. The we ate some gourgeous veggies, like roman artichokes, broccolletti, mashrooms and a tastiest chicken in a yogurt and cannella sauce... And trust me, I do not put any useless calories, not at all. The reason for that is that shortly before midnight we went to the Colosseum to see the concert of Italian Rock Star - Gianna Nannini, and on the way there burnt all the calories ;-). The walk in the night was splendid. I enjoyed a very nice conversation with Giorgio, who was sharing his personal life's adventures and was giving me very precious advices for life. By the time we came to the Colloseum, there were thousands of people, drunk and happy, but quite impolite, and it was practically impossible to get to the stage area. Our group got divided into four groups and we all met the New 2009, standing in the middle of the crowd, kissing and hugging each other. For me it was a special moment. I left all the tears, or almost all of them, in the past 2008, and happily was looking into the new one 2009. I do really hope that this year will be at least a little bit better, if not for me then for my friends or relatives. I really do.
So, after enjoying some fireworks at the Colosseum we decided to go back and to celebrate the arrival of the New Year according to GMT, with some champagne and lovely Siena sweets...
So, my dear friends, HAPPY NEW YEAR again...
I love you and I miss you.
Yours,
Saiyora
